The PAGES-supported workshop "Linking the Continental Environmental Quaternary History of Southern Africa with Ocean Currents and Antarctica" will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from 15-17 May 2002.

The main goals of this workshop are to identify crucial gaps in our understanding of ocean-continental climate links for southern Africa and the surrounding oceans and to actively promote broader co-operation across disciplinary and international boundaries.
